Irish Film Festival

The 2018 Irish Film Festival is set to take place in Bangkok from 21-23 September this year. Hosted by the Embassy of Ireland, it is the second year of the festival and will be held at the Bangkok Screening Room in Sala Daeng.

Four Irish films will be screened this year from a variety of genres: the hugely popular family-friendly animated feature Song of the Sea, romantic musical Once which won an Oscar for best song, My Left Foot the classic Oscar-winning drama starring Daniel Day Lewis, and John Hume in America, a documentary about a little known but influential figure in Irish political history.

Ambassador of Ireland to Thailand, His Excellency Mr Tony Cotter said:

“The Embassy is delighted to host and present the 2018 Irish Film Festival in Bangkok. Following on from the success of last year’s inaugural event we have more films and more variety in genre. The Embassy is presenting four films with Thai subtitles that represent some of the best of Irish filmmaking. There is something for everyone and I encourage all lovers of film to come to the Irish Film Festival in Bangkok and join us as we celebrate Ireland and Irish film. I am thrilled to present an event where Thai people can come and enjoy Irish culture and art, and learn about Ireland.”
