SaiLom Project

SaiLom Project works with physically and intellectually disabled boys and young men who are currently living in a government facility (Rachawadee) to assist in developing life skills. The goal of the project is to, where possible, teach job readiness skills and provide job coaching to participants so that they can integrate into the workforce.

Volunteer Opportunity

WHAT: Assist SaiLom Project with their monthly excursion for residents of Rachawadee . These outings are a special treat for the residents as they rarely have the opportunity to leave the facility. SaiLom Project can only take as many residents as they have volunteers to ensure that the outing is both safe and fun for the residents. Visit SaiLom Project’s Center to assist with day programs.

WHEN: Last Saturday of each month – 9:00am – 2:00pm – for excursions Various times – assist at SaiLom Centre

WHERE: Various locations across Bangkok (examples: Nonthaburi Pier, Koh Kret Island, Dusit Zoo). Volunteers meet at Rachawadee which is located approximately a 10-minute drive from Nichada. Although SaiLom Project will organize transportation for residents and volunteers, the use of volunteer’s vehicles/drivers is appreciated as it assists in keeping the transportation costs down.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES: Each volunteer will be paired with a resident for the day to provide whatever assistance is needed. Examples would be making sure their partner stays with the group, helping them order and pay for their lunch, assist with any purchases that they make. SaiLom is appreciative if the volunteer is willing to cover the cost of their partner’s lunch as well as donate 200B so that their partner can buy a small souvenir or keepsake while on the trip. Additionally, volunteers assist with teaching/supervising life skills development, for example, cooking, housekeeping, etc.

Please feel free to contact the NNR Charity Coordinators at if you would like to discuss volunteer opportunities or if you have any questions.
